I'd like to be able to have a set of standard filters that I can use so it doesn't revert back when I click to another category under "keyword ideas."

An option to save custom presets is now available in Keywords Explorer. We've also updated the filter behavior so filters are no longer reset when switching between reports or submitting a new search.

While researching keywords, I categorize them based on KD and other factors. Adding same set of filters to different set of keywords is time consuming and lead to errors, if you're using many filters. Having an option to save the filter view will be a quite handy.
I have a work around for people = having the same problem.
Step 1: Add your filters
Step 2: Copy the URL
Step 3: Replace the Keyword = 'New keyword' to get the results for the same set of filters
