It's helpful to see at a glance the typical word count of ranking pages.
oh man! THIS! been wanting this for so long. so you can check how much content you have to compete against.
It would be really nice if this could tell us the word count of the main content and supplementary content also. On ecommerce sites this would be really useful since there are a lot of navigation and product links that would be counted.
Agreed. Word count is a decent proxy for complete treatment of a keyword topic. We can extend the proxy idea and assume how a competitor's page is assessed by Google. We could then conclude that a low word count page on the SERP is vulnerable to our own superior (higher word count) content.
It would be a great feature for SERP overview and for Keyword Explorer too.
Because, when you are analyzing your competitors, the difficulty of the serp and other important things to try to rank or improve your rank, it's a KPI very important the number of words and also what another keywords outcome from the same page. I don't know if I'm clear.
Another good thing would be including the WDF/IDF analysis there. But maybe is so much to give haha.
It will be great if you add an option of showing word count of an article, in the top serp results for a particluar keyword
Would need algorithm to filter out template words but yeah this is need so i can automate the f'ing process of outsourcing content more. https://bluelinkseo.com
I second this, it would make the content creation process so much easier. In addition it would be great to get averages in the SERP overview section for word count, DR, links, RDs etc.. This would save so much time when planning.
Would love to push this to the top. We need this asap. Can be that hard to had to the serp overview in keywords explorer. Just pull in the top 10. Tim I know you want to pull the trigger on this and shake the seo community.
actually, Tim, think about adding this to Top Pages as a column or to Organic Keywords
