Show ranks for Blue Links only

With rapidly changing SERPs the “classical” blue link rank is getting way more valid than the mixed one. Read: the only thing a publisher can affect with SEO tasks. Example: a keyword ranks on position 4 mixed rank is actually ranking on pos. 1. The reason for nr. 4 is "just": 1. shopping, 2. knowledge panel, 3. people also ask... Google's search features a publisher can´t change!

Option to Ignore SERP Features for Position
J
Jamie Smith
Add an option to ignore SERP features as positions.
For example, in the current position tracking if your webpage is the very first "organic blue link", but there happens to be a map pack and People Also Ask feature above you, ahref's will say you're ranked #3.
This is very annoying as I have to manually click the SERP button to double check whether my client is actually ranking #3 or if ahrefs is just counting the SERP features. This manual checking across many keywords really defeats the purpose of using the rank tracker.
It's also annoying to see a keyword drop one or two positions in ahrefs, only to check the SERP and find out the position didn't drop, it's just Google added SERP features.
An OPTION to not count these SERP features in the final position metric would be very helpful.

Hello again ! It's been 3 years... With more and more search features actually eating up organic positions, it's a no brainer to have this possibility of filtering those. Just add the possibility to show pixel position and actual organic position, it's sad to present reports with red numbers when the actual positions above us are PAA, Local Map or Ads. It also makes the analysis way more difficult instead of having the possibility to focus on keywords on which we have actually real competitors above and not Google features,le features which can't be outranked. There's 33 Upvotes here and more than 13 comments, what's going on?

This is a very helpful suggestion indeed. Ranking and SERP features should not compete with each other. Because you are not actually dropping.

Hello ! It's been almost 2 years since this request has been created. It's a very easy feature to implement and it really help us, consultants, to provide useful data to our clients when it comes to understanding why certains pages lost traffic. If the pixel positions dropped but not the actual organic position, then we can't do much, we're not going to outrank Google features. Please, make it happen, so many tools are already providing this for good reasons!

And it's very annoying in reports for clients, they see 3 position, when it's in SERP website nr 1. Please make this feature!

This is something we really need as well, the reporting becomes misleading with all the serp features...
