Option to filter our SERP Features

It's extremely frustrating to see drops in rankings and to be concerned, when really it's just a new or move SERP features like top stories or FAQ. Being able to filter these out would be extremely beneficial because I couldn't care less about them. If they get added there is nothing we can do, but it shows as a ranking drop which concerns me and causes me to waste time investigating.

This feature is now available in the new Organic keywords. It also affects the list of URLs in the position history chart.

Fedor Fokin: Are there any plans to add this feature to the Rank Tracking reports? I constantly see rank drops from #1 to 2 or 3, only to check the SERP button and see Google has added a new "people also ask" or something and the page is actually still ranked #1. I also have to manually check the SERP for every single keyword when updating clients on their rankings because I have no option to disable counting useless things like people also ask or any other SERP feature which neither I or the client are interested in tracking.

Jamie Smith: We plan to gradually unify the functionality between Rank Tracker and Site Explorer, but this particular filter is not a priority at the moment.
By the way, I see that you’ve created such a request already, so if it gets some support, we’ll consider adding it to RT roadmap.
Thanks for reporting!

Position column settings

As of today, position column shows a position for the highest ranking 'element' in SERP - be it sitelink or image or any other type of SERP element. This is quite problematic for sites that rank for both sitelinks and images (most ecommerce sites) as we don't know which SERP feature the number shown addresses. To access this information you need to lookup how SERP looks like and see which one is higher - sitelink or image. In our business case image SEO is strong but sitelinks need attention but since we're ranking for a lot of KW in both images (high positions) and sitelinks (low positions) the lack of settings and/or separation of 'position' column to different SERP features makes the analysis cumbersome. It should be relatively easy to implement, as you guys do have the data on a position of a given SERP feature for a particular keyword so I guess it's a matter of making it visible or giving the possibility to change what type of SERP feature is displayed in the 'position' column.

We have the option to filter these out these out in the Site Explorer keywords reports currently.
Perhaps it may be useful to allow the option to enable a persistent filter to keep these filtered out of the reports unless the user turns the persistent filter off or specifically wants to access that data using a single-use filter by query.
Based on the language of the request, I would imagine an additional desire would be to filter this data out of the graph reports on the Overview and perhaps even the Dashboard views as well.

Exactly right. Also, I have many keywords that seem to rank on 1st or 3rd positions, when in fact it's just inside an image pack, which I don't care about that much. So in order to get to the site link position I need to scroll through the SERP page after page until I get to the site link. The current ranking system is confusing and has made me lose a lot of time. Please fix this!
