Here's my take on this - there are heaps of SEO pam sites that clutter up the backlinks report and make it really hard to see real backlinks.
These are the same domains on lots of sites, and it would be great to have an option to filter these out. I don't necessarily think it should be community driven, but it could even be keyword based.
Eg "Hide spam backlinks"
Then filter for terms in URLs and titles like:
backlink, backlinks, SEO, rank, rankings etc

Tbh, I don't think this is a good idea simply because the majority of people "being able to vote" are simply incompetent, misinformed and more often than not, not being capable to understand core concepts simply because being narrow-sighted. Just look where democracy got us to. :o)

Karamarinov: Interesting POV, thanks for the feedback. I still think a moderated spam list would provide an additional layer of insight on metrics such as DR and UR, but to your point, should be considered an advisory metric only.
