Google displays businesses by geographic location in its "3 Pack". It would be extremely helpful to local businesses to track these important results.
I would definitely like this feature to be added, it would be a great relief,. right now ahref tracks local ranking but only for organic search result, would love to see the same feature for map, without increasing the price!=)
Do it. I could cancel my ranktracker if this came through
Really would like this feature
Upvoting this aswell. Really need it.
This is a must have for rank tracking with our small business clients.
This is definitely the most important feature missing from Ahrefs. I found this thread while searching for a tool that tracks the 3 pack and from my research and the other comments, it seems like Agency Analytics is the way to go for that but I haven't looked at pricing for all. I'm a loyal Ahrefs user through-and-through though.
@David Rein: Yeah, we're considering a switch to semrush because of this. BrightLocal also does a really good job at local pack rank-tracking.
@Justin Mosebach: I find Bright Local is not always accurate. I'm hoping ahrefs can close the gap and increase the accuracy.
@Donna Duncan: Seems like no rank tracker is always accurate, but the fact that Ahrefs doesn't even have an option to track local map packs is basically insane (they track almost every other kind of featured snippet, etc under the sun).
PRETTY PLEASE (with sugar on top!)
I currently use Agency Analytics mostly for this feature. Ohhhh it would be nice to cancel that service if this were to be implemented!
Yeah, SEMrush allows this and makes it easy. I like Ahrefs better, but not being able to optionally include the map pack ranking positions is very frustrating. If you're "Position 1" (according to Ahrefs), you might actually be position 4 (if there's a map pack on the SERP).
Agreed, and being allowed to track Maps and Organic simultaneously without impact to our keyword quantities.
@John Piccone: AMEN!
This is the most important missing element of the Rank Tracker.
Without 3-pack and Google Finder results (that appear when you click "More Places" on the 3-pack), there's no way to use Ahrefs to support the millions of local businesses to need to know where they stand relative to local competitors. Afrefs *may* already have the data, but it's not surfaced in the dashboard.
Other competitive tools provide some level of local ranking tracking that typically includes the 3-pack and Finder. For example: SEMRush, Advanced Web Ranking, Agency Analytics, RankRanger, SERPstat, Pro Rank Tracker, etc. They provide local ranking because it's a huge, important market. In my view, there are more opportunities in local than global. That's why adding world-class local tracking to Ahrefs would make it a killer app, rendering other competing apps less valuable and possibly unnecessary, and bring many new subscribers to Ahrefs.
For example, the Content Explorer means I don't really don't need BuzzSumo, which is a big savings and also convenient. Ahrefs seems to do everything to a high standard, so I'm really hoping that local tracking becomes a reality.
One key feature for me is a report that shows competitors ranked by some overall metric, an index that instantly conveys overall relative position across one or more nearby locations, If only Google tracking is provided, that's OK in a pinch, but at least for the U.S., Bing also has considerable market share and should be considered.
Here's a super-handy high-level visibility report from AWR that clients love to see. I understand it's simple; that's the point. SEO's can drill into the details on their own time, but clients want the big picture relative to local competitors. Reports such as this are outstanding marketing tools: https://www.dropbox.com/s/78kbsoclnpo3nwz/competitors-11-13-2017-4.jpg?dl=0
The addition of comprehensive, accurate local tracking would add huge value to Ahrefs!
Agreed. I would also say that it is extremely important that these Local Map Pack rankings have the ability to be separated from the organic. Meaning, I should be able to look at the average Map Pack ranking AS WELL AS the average organic ranking with the map pack not included. I think this is where 90% of rank trackers fail
Yes, yes, yes. Definitely lacking in the local/maps keyword tracking arena
