Ability to remove .jpg backlinks from report
complete
Oleg Segal
Nowadays, when there are tons of image spammy sites on the web like this one: http://sammlungfotos.online/brandsfdwn-full-grown-pitbull-lab-mix.htm
I get 95% of my entire links from them, pointing to my .jpg/png/gif files.
It doesn't add value to see them in backlinks reports, instead it spam my reports so I need to spend 4x more time to go through whole report.
Would be cool if there will be an option just to remove all of those from results.

This option was added in the new Backlinks report: https://ahrefs.com/v2-site-explorer/backlinks/subdomains?direction=desc&follow_type=all&grouping=all&sort=traffic&target=ahrefs.com%2F. Look for the "Content type" filter in the "More filters" dropdown.

Filter out links to images
Eric Mitz
Our backlink profile is full of scraper sites linking directly to our images rather than pages (hundreds and thousands of them). I would be great to be able to filter these out so we can more easily see links to our actual content.

Spammy image links slow your site down and maybe mess up your SEO. Google does not like slow sites or sites with spammy links to them. I suggest you block external links to images using your host config or ask your provider to do so. I also suggest you create a disavow file containing all of them and submit it to Google. AHRefs let you do the former and just search on how to do the latter.

That's a really good idea, because it's cleary not the same "link quality"

Yep, same here, have been always annoyed with this and that we have to go over so many .png, .jpg etc type of links in the backlink report and disregard them.
Recently tried something that helps somewhat- to use the filter and add ".jpg" then exclude:
This eases the process. However, tried to add multiple entries to exclude at once ex. ".jpg, .png" but it doesn't seem to work. So, need to go one time and exclude jpegs. then png, but it definitely helps :)

Been doing this in gsheets for ages, would be great to finally have it in-ahrefs too

FIlter out inbound links to images

Certain sites get a lot of love from image scrapers, and a high percentage of links end up being directly to image files.
Would be efficient to filer those out when wanting to look at links to pages on site.

Waiting to see this feature in action. Would save a lot of time!

I second that.

Boštjan Kočan: I third it but would ideally like to see just links to image files also (so I can disavow them and check for negative SEO attacks using them). Please also see my comment further up this thread about getting rid of these links.
